I was just thinking that it is amazing that America is not even more corrupt than it already is. There are pockets of corruption especially in some rural areas where nepotism, vote buying and sort of feudalism still exists.

But, by in large laws are in place to combat it, the amazing part is that the laws were written by the very politicians who would have benefited most from corruption.
